What is sopo? Sopo is a building that became part of the Batak tribe villages. In Toba Batak tribe village called Lumban / huta follow the pattern that is lined with a spatial structure is intact and strong community solidarity. Huta can still be seen in Tapanuli in some villages like Tomok, Ambarita, Silaen and Lumban Nabolon Parbagasan currently visited by many tourists.
Arrangement in the form consists of several Ruma huta and Sopo in it. Ruma and sopo the position facing each other and refer to the north south axis.
Sopo is a barn, for storage of food such as rice, corn or other crops, or coffee. Philosophy contained Batak society that would appreciate the meaning of life, food and shelter is a support and source of life for them and grateful to the prudent use.
Adhering to the philosophy of the Sopo-IDO is dedicated as a granary of information that is expected to be useful in human life.
